Deoksu High School players who won the championship in the final match between Daegu Sangwon High School and Deoksu High School in the '78th Golden Lion National High School Baseball Championship and Weekend League King of Kings Tournament' held at Mokdong Baseball Stadium in Seoul on the 29th are taking a commemorative photo.

Deoksu High School defeated Daegu Sanwon High School and regained the Golden Lion Trophy for the first time in 7 years.

Deoksu High School defeated Daegu Sangwon High School 4-0 in the final of the 78th Golden Lion National High School Baseball Championship and Weekend League King of Kings (co-hosted by Dong-A Ilbo, Sports Donga, and Korea Baseball Softball Association) held at Mokdong Stadium on the 29th. With this, Deoksu High School enjoyed the joy of winning the Golden Lion for the 7th time in 7 years since 2017 and for the 7th time in total, following 1994-1995, 2004, 2013, and 2016-2017. The honor of Most Valuable Player (MVP) went to Deoksu High School infielder Park Jun-soon, who recorded a batting average of 0.636 (7 hits in 11 at-bats) in 5 games.

The dominant assessment was that Deoksu High School was superior in terms of objective power. This is because they were able to utilize both third-year one-two punches Kim Tae-hyung (right-hander) and Jeong Hyun-woo (left-hander). Deoksu High School coach Jeong Yun-jin also pledged, “I will definitely win the Golden Lion.” On the other hand, Daegu Sangwon High School was unable to utilize ace Lee Dong-young, who threw 104 pitches in the semifinal match against Gangneung High School on the 26th, due to the mandatory no-day (4-day) rule. In the bottom of the third inning, Bae Seung-soo's double and Park Jun-soon's fly ball to right field made it 2-0 with Oh Si-hu's sacrifice fly in a chance with one out and third base. In the bottom of the 5th inning, timely hitting by Park Jun-soon and Woo Jung-an added 2 runs to advance to 4-0.

From the 5th inning, Jung Hyun-woo took over the baton from Kim Tae-hyung and dominated the mound. He showed off his power with a fast ball of 150 km/h and a slider. From the 5th to the 9th inning, he gave up only one hit and struck out five, tightly tying up the Daegu Sangwon High School batting lineup. Except for the double allowed to Nam Tae-woong after one out in the top of the seventh inning, it was a near-perfect pitch.

When Jeong Hyun-woo's victory was confirmed by catching Moon Kyeong-won with a fly ball to right field after two outs in the top of the ninth inning, the Deoksu High School players rushed to the ground all at once and enjoyed the joy.
