Busy Klinsmann with a long way to go, lowest win percentage ever even with Wales win
Просмотреть или сохранить оригинал: Busy Klinsmann with a long way to...

Victory over Wales boosts his win percentage from 0% to 20
The previous lowest winning percentage manager was Hong Myung-bo with 26%.

As Jürgen Klinsmann's national soccer team prepares to face Wales in an exhibition match, there are mixed feelings about the need to get their first win quickly. Even a win against the Welsh would leave Klinsmann with the lowest winning percentage in his career.

Klinsmann's men face Wales in a friendly at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Aug. 8 at 3:45 a.m. ET. The team will then travel to Newcastle, England, for a second match against Saudi Arabia on the 13th.

Klinsmann hasn't won a game in four matches since taking charge of the South Korean national team, drawing two and losing two. His win percentage is currently 0%.

A win against Wales would give Klinsmann a 20% winning percentage and take him out of the 0% range. That would be the lowest win percentage of any South Korean national team coach in history.

According to the Korea Football Association, Hong Myung-bo has the lowest winning percentage of any national team coach in history. Hong, who took over under difficult circumstances after the resignation of Choi Kang-hee ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, won five, drew four and lost 10 of his 19 matches for a 26% winning percentage.

Shin Tae-yong, who led the team from 2017 to the 2018 World Cup in Russia after the sacking of Uli Stielike, had a 33% win rate (21 games, 7 wins, 6 draws, 8 losses).

Pim Barebeck, who coached South Korea from 2006 to 2007, had a winning percentage of 35.2% (17 wins, 6 losses, 5 draws, 5 ties).

Gus Hiddink, who led South Korea to the quarterfinals of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, had a winning percentage of 35.8% (14 wins, 13 draws, 12 losses in 39 games).

The highest winning percentage of any South Korean coach in history was achieved by Stielike, who coached from 2014 to 2017. Stielike's winning percentage was 69% (39 games, 27 wins, 5 draws, and 7 losses). Paulo Bento is second on the all-time list with 61% (57 games, 35 wins, 13 draws, 9 losses).

If the struggling Klinsmann wins against Wales and then Saudi Arabia, his winning percentage will rise to 33% and he will save himself the humiliation of being the lowest-winning coach of all time.
